Are you tired of run-of-the-mill awards and find yourself questioning the criteria and process of selection? Wouldn’t you love to learn from winners, rather than just recognize their excellence?
IBC 2016 is a unique awards initiative that disrupts the status quo:
The only initiative to enable invaluable learning from the best CIOs and Startup CTOs across India
A first in the history of awards, this year’s nominations will be made through videos
An end-to-end process that is completely undertaken through the digital medium
Nomination and evaluation processes made transparent by conducting the process solely via digital media
IBC is a quest to discover, honor, and learn from the best IT leaders in India. Our journey this year will bring out the best talent in technology across the following segments:
In 2013, the CIO Association of India and Dell jointly launched India’s first ever community-driven CIO awards in Mumbai. The IBC trophy was unveiled by Mr Alok Ohrie, President and MD, Dell India and Mr Brian Charles Lara. The initiative introduced the ground-breaking concept of peer voting, enabling the CIO Community to choose the very best among themselves. The winners were felicitated by Mr Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief at Times Now, in January, 2014.
The second edition continued the legacy of disrupting the CIO Awards space in India. A dedicated IBC platform was created for CIOs to showcase their achievements, garner votes through the power of social media, as well as vote for their deserving peers. A new category – ‘India’s most Eminent CIO’ – was instituted to enable participation from all members of the Enterprise IT Industry, including non-CIOs. Mr Sourav Ganguly, Mr Arvind Gupta (National Head – IT, BJP), and Mr Gaurav Chand (VP, Marketing, Commercial, Dell Inc.) presided over this event in July 2015, Mumbai.
In the previous two editions of India’s Best CIO Awards, we recognised some of the country’s most eminent CIOs.

The CIO Association of India (CAI) was established in 2008 with a vision to connect every CIO across the country. Since its inception, CAI has been credited with many firsts – from launching India’s largest online social network of CIOs (GreatCIO.com) to initiating the first CIO Book Club and even conducting India’s first multi-city CIO Boardroom (via Telepresence). It is this spirit of initiation in engagement that sets CAI apart.
CAI works towards enriching the CIO’s Leadership Journey. The CIO Academy was established as a first-of-its-kind initiative that works in partnership with the esteemed Indian School of Business (ISB). Realizing the need for a platform that helps CIOs network professionally, CAI instituted the CXO Golf Learning program spread across 7 cities. Also being a knowledge-driven organization, CAI founded the CIO Research Center (CRC), to help CIOs make informed technology choices.
India’s Best CIOs, is yet another successful attempt by CAI in partnership with Dell EMC to disrupt the CIO and Start-up CTO recognition programs in the country. These awards focus more on community participation and peer learning, alongside acknowledging talent, which is the spirit of CAI itself.
